How it works · Brokers
Stop searching, start quoting.
Search by route and timing, review candidates and request contact. Move beyond “Who's available?” messages in a WhatsApp group and start a conversation with the right courier.
From mission to the right courier
- 01
Start with the mission
Enter the departure and destination airports, and time window. Optionally, set a pickup location, frequent flyer and other preferences.
- 02
Search by route and timing
Only couriers whose agenda, location and documents line up appear. Entry equirement data from IATA is used to make sure the courier qualifies. If there are doubts, you will see a warning.
- 03
Compare candidates with context
Review availability, travel times and document or visa information alongside the courier’s profile. Use the results to identify who deserves a closer look, and clarify any missing information before agreeing the mission.
- 04
Send a contact request
Pick the couriers you want to contact. The courier can accept or decline; accepting shares contact details so the conversation can continue directly. Accepting contact is not accepting a mission.
- 05
Agree the details on your own channels
Discuss the mission, confirm suitability and agree the commercial terms together, using your current communication channels — including WhatsApp.
- 06
Keep a record
Revisit contact requests and their statuses in contact history, visible across your organisation. Invite couriers to become associated, so future searches prioritise them.
What makes a match useful
The route is only the start. Timing, travel documents and the ground journey help you assess the fit.
Documents inform the decision
Passport and visa information helps assess a route. Missing or uncertain information still needs checking with the courier; a search result is not a guarantee of entry or permission to carry a shipment.
Repositioning is a choice
Choose whether to consider couriers who need to reposition. The search can stay focused on the departure area or widen when the mission allows it.
The ground leg matters
A pickup address and travel-time information add context beyond the airport code. Review the ground journey alongside the time window before contacting a candidate.
Your network comes first
Associated couriers can be prioritised or searched exclusively, so the people you already trust stay at the top of the list.
Common questions
Does OBC Portal prepare or send quotes?
The broker workspace helps you find and assess couriers so you can move on to quoting. Pricing, quotes and commercial agreements are handled directly, not through an automatic quoting tool in the portal.
Does this replace WhatsApp entirely?
It replaces the need to start every search by polling a few known OBCs via WhatsApp, or posting in "Mission from X to Y, No Repo" in WhatsApp and Telegram groups. Once a courier accepts contact, you can continue the conversation directly, including on WhatsApp. Less searching through messages, more relevant conversations.
Can I search within my existing courier network?
Yes. Brokers can limit a search to associated couriers or search more widely, and review previous contact requests in their contact history. For help with onboarding your current courier network, please contact us!
Is OBC Portal a courier company?
No. OBC Portal helps brokers find and connect with independent on-board couriers. The broker and courier agree the mission and its terms directly.
