OBOBC Portal

Terms

General terms and conditions.

What you agree to when you use obcportal.com or the member portal: what the platform is, what it is not, who issues accounts, and where responsibility for a mission sits.

  1. 01

    What OBC Portal is

OBC Portal is a matching platform. It helps brokers find available on-board couriers and helps couriers be found. It is not a carrier, freight forwarder, customs broker or insurer, and it is not a party to any mission. The quote, the cargo, the handover and the paperwork are agreed directly between broker and courier, using the channels both sides already work with.

  2. 02

    Who these terms apply to

Anyone who uses obcportal.com, the Request Access and Contact forms, or the member portal at app.obcportal.com. By using any of them you accept these terms. If you use the portal on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are allowed to do so for that organisation.

  3. 03

    The beta

OBC Portal is in public beta. Features appear, change and sometimes disappear. We do not promise that anything keeps working, and there is no uptime guarantee or service level agreement. We will not charge you for anything on this site without telling you first.

  4. 04

    Accounts

Accounts are issued by organisations; there is no open self-signup during the beta. Couriers who do not have one yet can apply through the Request Access form.

You must give accurate information, keep your credentials to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else is using your account. One person, one account.

  5. 05

    What you must not do

    • Use the platform to move or arrange anything unlawful, including cargo that needs licences or declarations you do not hold.
    • Present a profile that overstates your eligibility: bases, availability, passport, visas, car or certificates that are not true or not current.
    • Scrape, harvest or automate access to the site or its forms, or build your own contact lists out of what the platform shows you.
    • Contact members in a way that harasses them, or push past someone's decision not to take a mission.
    • Post or transmit anything that infringes somebody else's rights.
  6. 06

Profiles, matching and what we do not promise

Your profile is shown to brokers whose search matches it, and only the eligibility fields a search needs — not your name or contact details, until you agree to be contacted. We do not promise that you will be found, contacted, chosen or paid. Results depend on the filters a broker applies, your availability at that moment, and your documents. A broker's decision is theirs; a courier's decision to accept a contact request is theirs.

  7. 07

    Accepting a contact request

Accepting a contact request shares your contact details with the broker who asked. It is not a mission commitment. Whether the mission goes ahead is agreed between the two of you.

  8. 08

    Money

This site is the public beta: nothing here is a price list, a quote or an offer. Mission pricing, payment terms, liability for cargo and insurance are agreed directly between broker and courier, and are not set or guaranteed by us. If we introduce fees, they will be stated before you agree to them.

  9. 09

    Documents and eligibility

You keep your own documents. The portal keeps the facts about them — which country issued your passport, which visas you hold, whether a yellow fever certificate is still valid — so eligibility can be checked once and reused. It stores no copies of documents. You are responsible for keeping them valid and for updating the portal when they change; if a document expires, you stop appearing in the searches that need it.

  10. 10

    Cargo and handovers

OBC Portal does not take possession of cargo, does not arrange transport, and does not supervise handovers. The chain of custody is between broker and courier. Nothing in these terms makes us responsible for a shipment.

  11. 11

    Your content and ours

You keep what you write and upload to your profile. You give us the right to show it to members who are allowed to see it, and to keep a record of what was searched, requested and agreed so the platform works. The site's design, text, name and marks belong to Doowat bv; you may not copy or reuse them commercially.

  12. 12

    Liability

To the extent the law allows, Doowat bv is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, lost cargo value or lost business arising from use of the platform, and the service is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for wilful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury.

  13. 13

    Suspension and ending

We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, misrepresents eligibility, puts other members at risk, or is abused. You can stop using the platform at any time and ask us to delete your personal data, as described in the privacy notice.

  14. 14

    Changes to these terms

We update these terms as the platform changes. The date at the top of this page shows the version in force; using the site after an update means you accept it. If a change is significant, we will try to tell members in the portal first.

  15. 15

    Governing law

Belgian law governs these terms and any dispute arising from them, and the competent courts of Belgium have jurisdiction. Before going to court, write to support@obcportal.com — most problems are settled in one reply.
